ISRAEL IS FOREVER
ISRAEL AND HER PEOPLE IN WHOM THE LORD DELIGHTS!!
“THE LORD HAS CHOSEN ISRAEL FOR HIS OWN POSSESSION.”
Israel is a Nation like no other Nation on this earth. It is a Nation that has been called by God – His Nation. Israel is mentioned 2,575 in the Word of God. Jerusalem is mentioned 806 times.
Jesus has Himself declared in His Word that He is coming back to earth to His Nation -Israel. He will stand in Jerusalem, His City. The city that He dearly loves.
God made a covenant with Abraham in approximately 2000 B.C. The Lord declared to Abraham: “And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you all the land of Canaan (Israel) for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.” Gen 17: 7-8
The Lord declared to Abraham that He was giving the land of Israel as an everlasting possession to the Jewish people. God chose these people because of His love for them. “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the Lord loves you….”
"I will bless those who bless you O Israel,...and all people on earth will be blessed through you." Gen 12:3
Israel was created by God to bring forth blessings upon the earth.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love thee.
Isaiah 65: 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people for gladness.
Ps. 29:11 The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.
Isaiah 43:6-7 I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
Zech. 1: 13-14 And the Lord answered gracious and comforting words to the angel who talked with me. So the angel who talked with me said to me, ‘Cry out, Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion.
Zech. 1:16 Therefore, thus says the Lord, I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy; my house shall be built in it, declares the Lord of hosts, and the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.
Zech. 2:4-5 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it. And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.’”
Zech. 8: 3 “Thus says the Lord: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain.
Zech. 8: 7-8 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.”
Zech. 9: 16 On that day the Lord their God will save them, as the flock of his people; for like the jewels of a crown they shall shine on his land.
Zech. 13: 1 “On that day there shall be a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.
Zech. 13: 9 They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
Deut. 7: 6 “For you are a holy people, dedicated to the Lord your God. He has chosen you from all the people on the face of the whole earth to be his own chosen ones.
Isaiah 62: 1 Because I love Zion, because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I will not cease to pray for her or to cry out to God on her behalf until she shines forth in his righteousness and is glorious in his salvation.
Jer. 31:10 “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’
Is. 41: 8-9 But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
Ps 29: 11 He will give his people strength. He will bless them with peace.
Psalms 147: 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
Isaiah 49: 3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”
Is. 61: 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy.
Jer. 33: 3, 6-8 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Behold, I will bring to My people health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security. I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel, and rebuild them as they were at first. I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.
Jer. 32:38-41 They shall be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.
